What’s Needed to Repair Earth
For now, think of the kinds of ways people can tackle Earth’s biggest problems. First of all, there is the rain and the lack of it in some regions, and way too much of it in others. Imbalance. How do we stay focused on the ways to mitigate the imbalance of rain where we live and in other regions of the world?
Continuing, let's think of the kinds of things we can do locally, right where we live, so that collectively we can make a difference by doing things like others do to keep things in balance, especially the rain. Too much of it, and we wipe out vast amounts of topsoil needed to grow foods, wood for building things and wildlife habitats.
What measures can we take right now to send some of that over-amount of rain to places that need it most? Seeding clouds in certain areas has been done for decades to control the rain with simple chemicals that do not harm Earth because they come from the earth, like silver nitrate. Redirecting rains to flood lands that do less damage is another. We know where they are.
What about areas that don’t get enough rain? What can we do right where we live now (if dry)?
We have several means to capture the rain on slopes and dry river beds during the rainy season, from ditches (swales) on slopes, to check dams on dry stream beds for the rainy season, capturing rain from any type of roofed structure into a barrel or tank, and more.
Let’s remember here that trees and other plants give up their water to let it go into the atmosphere to create rain clouds. The more we creatively plant them, the more rain will fall when it’s needed in areas where little falls now. Time will bring these rain clouds into balance in the near future if we act courageously with our neighbors and family to take these measures and fly with them. We can conquer most imbalances if many hands make light work of this planting, harvesting and creating rain.
