Reviving the Earth: A Simple Guide to Composting for a Healthier Planet
It’s simple, really. Restoring Earth through composting takes little time, and yet has lasting effects that science doesn’t fully understand yet.
It’s easy to accomplish. Take your food trimmings and leftovers that you are certain you won’t eat again and place them in a small container for the next day. After two or three days, take that into your yard or balcony of your apartment, and place them in a dark container. You choose the size.
Once they are placed there, add some soil, any soil. Sprinkle it lightly over the food scraps. Then add a bit of rock dust or lava rock dust to replenish the minerals lost from soil when plants pull them out to form their varied cells. Now add a bit of scrap pieces of brown paper or brown cardboard to round out the ingredients. Spray or sprinkle a little water to dampen the mix, and close the container tightly so the sun does not reach the mix. Shade helps the process.
Keep the mix going each day or every few days. Keep the same mixture layers as before, and let that compost, making sure to mix it so the air keeps the process going. In a few weeks or months, the soil will be dark, sweet smelling like earth should. Use the completely conditioned soil around your house plants or those in the garden. It will restore Earth in a hurry to do so, and the plants will be grateful for all the nutrients you have given back to them for another go at life in the fast lane!
