Jazzing Up Your Plate with Perennials

It’s been brought to my attention that simple foods, like those that come from perennial sources, are not given the respect they deserve. It’s time to change that!

Try jazzing them up with different colors that please the eye for starters. Next, experiment with differently shaped plant foods on the plate, just like top chefs do. Look at the many pictures on the Internet of a chef’s hand under a plate as it is served in a restaurant. Imitating them is a snap.

Try combining your favorite perennial foods and herbs in a colorful tossed salad or soup to surprise your guests at the next dinner party. Make it a topic of discussion, and they will be amazed by the ingredients and the great flavors they are enjoying.

Mix it up, dear readers. Your imagination can make endless possibilities a reality. Eating the same boring foods day in and day out can take the joy out of every meal. Instead of reading while eating, you will consciously give attention to the bright and colorful foods nature provides and their infinite varieties of taste adventures.

Enjoy the feast, now and forever!
