Rock and Roll for Health
Did you think we meant dancing? That's not a bad idea, but today we're talking about rock dust. If you don't have the good fortune of having access to volcanic rock dust with all its marvelous minerals to put back into the soil, the next best thing is to look around your land if you're growing food, and pick up some local small rocks, maybe about the size of your fist.
Inside that rock are unused minerals. You see, the little critters under the soil will wiggle around soft minuscule crumbles of dirt to get what they need on their outer skin or membrane, and then carry that along to the roots of the plants that you and others will eat for food. Inside the roots the little critters wiggle off that soft set of minerals and then the plant uses those minerals in its stalks, leaves, flowers and fruit. It's way too much work to try and get those minerals from the fist sized rock.
So the rock that you might be holding in your hand right now is a small mine. With a good hammer you can break that rock or stone. Then using the same hammer, you can grind the little pieces into what will become soft dirt for the little critters to use and put those minerals into your food.
It’s free.
